I hate using the word "vineyard" to describe our backyard grapes—always adds a hint of pretentiousness. But, with 23 rows and 350 vines, it's tough to classify it as anything else. We grow 4 varieties of hearty grapes that can survive the harsh New Hampshire winters: Catawba, Marechal Foch, Traminette and Niagara. We sell the crop to local wineries at the moment, but have plans to attempt our first wine in 2017.
